French Button Tucked Apple Green Vintage Victorian Chair

    Hi!

I was just wondering if you had any additional information about this particular chair, or if you might know someone I could talk to. I recently found this exact same chair, only the fabric was a mustard yellow color… it looks like it’s from the 70s, or possibly the 60s. When I asked the store owner how much it cost, he insisted that it was antique and quoted me $130 for a set of 2. By the way, they are not in that good of condition! Not surprisingly, I saw the chairs again today… a few months later. Thinking they may have reduced the price, I asked how much they were. The store owner then said they were antique and worth over $200 each! He continued to go on and on about how old they were but never gave me a price quote. He insisted that they were made in 1920.

Anyway, I was just hoping you might know more about this item! Any information or advise you might have would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much for your time!

    Hi Nicole

I am not an expert in the field, but I suspect they are victorian ballroom chairs.

I used to turn over furniture in DC and didn’t see them too often, and never as a set for a dining room chair.

Are you hoping to collect a certain amount.

I would keep a good eye on ebay, and look up the word “tufted” with chair and with the word victorian.

It may take a while to collect them, but if you love them that much, I would really look around for them.

Also, have you ever searched tempest? It is worth a days drive if you can gather up a few of them.

I know I used this site when I was looking for something specific.
